Target Bans Merry Christmas

I went to a target store on December 4, 2007, and as I checked out the cashier said “Happy Holidays” and I replied “its Merry Christmas not Happy Holidays”. The customer in front of me said “I agree with you sir” and the cashier said “she agrees also but the policy of target is for its employees to say Happy Holidays only, to its customers, we are not permitted to say Merry Christmas in person or by phone.”
