Just days before the South Carolina primary, John McCain was “flagged” by confederate flag supporters from the CofCC and the LOS. He was met by protesters in Greenville, Spartanburg, and Rock Hill.

One member was showed on multiple news stations asked McCain about the Confederate flag in Spartanburg. Before McCain could answer, Sen. Lindsey Graham spewed out “I’m glad that damn flag is gone.” McCain then said “the people of South Carolina voted to remove the flag.” McCain’s statement was a bold faced lie, and he knew it. The people of South Carolina were denied an opportunity to vote on the flag. A group of politicians, the NAACP, and the Chamber of Commerce conspired behind closed doors to remove the flag.
