In 2000, a reporter said to John McCain in South Carolina, “George Bush has the religious right as his base. Who in South Carolina is your base?” John McCain answered, “the media.”
When Republicans let the mainstream media choose their presidential candidate for them, Democrats win. If and when John McCain receives the nomination, about 3 nanoseconds later the media will begin attacking him. Instead of John McCain the great war hero and statesman, it will be John McCain the old, crazy, and ill tempered. McCain is a media straw man that they are setting up to knock down for Hillary.
With McCain left-wing record that is worse than some Democrats, huge numbers of Republicans will stay home on election day.
