US District Court orders Chicago to hire firefighters “randomly” from pool of unqualified black applicants.

Requiring that applicants prove they are qualified is apparently “discrimination.”

The Supreme Court reverted the “black firefighter discrimination” case back to the decision of a lower US District Court. The court had ordered the Chicago fire department to hire “randomly” from a pool of black candidates who are grossly under-qualified compared to the people who were hired.

The fire department required applicants to score 89 points or higher on an entrance exam. Some blacks scored 89 and were hired, but the majority did not.

The department is now being ordered to conduct Soviet style random hiring from a pool 132 black applicants who scored up to 28% less than the passing mark.
