Should the twelve year reign of a political regime tarnish a cultural symbol thousands of years old forever?

A Lithuanian court decriminalized the display of the Swastika, saying that the twelve year political reign of the Nazi party should not define a symbol thousands of years old.

Historically in western civilization the Swastika is a symbol of righteousness and good luck. It was also a symbol of the god Thor, and later made into a symbol of Christ. With a clockwise rotation it symbolizes the sun. With a counterclockwise facing, it represents the moon and resurrection.

Today, millions of people the world over find it insulting that a deeply rooted historical symbol should be declared offensive because one political regime lasting only twelve years used it.

In the United States, prior to WWII, it was widely used by Coca-Cola, the US Air Force, numerous Casinos, and dozens of American Indian tribes.
