St. Paul newspaper launches hate campaign against conservative city council member.

Ed Hanson, a conservative West St. Paul city council member, is being demonized by his local paper for having a barely visible Confederate flag in his back yard.

The extreme left-wing daily newspaper in St. Paul, MN has launched a hate campaign against city council member Ed Hansen. The local paper hates him because he is the most conservative member of the local city government.

The paper is complaining about a barely visible, partially obscured Confederate flag in his back yard! They newspaper is trying turn his neighbors against him by making the absurd claim that a barely visible Confederate flag in his back yard is lowering property values.

Once again the raw hatred of the left wing is on display. They do not believe in free speech or free expression. The left-wing only seeks to silence the opposition through intimidation. The Twin Cities Pioneer Press is clearing trying to chill free speech and free expression.

I’m not at all surprised this is happening in St. Paul. It’s a haven for leftists. My advice to this good man is to hire a lawyer and fight back. It doesn’t matter if he acquiesces or not. Either way, he’s going to be branded a hate-monger. He might as well stand up for his constitutional rights. Doing so won’t make the left hate him more, but they might think twice about harassing him again. If they know you’re going to fight, they throw a fit then back down.

So true. This is why all these things keep happening all over the country. People throw the race card and whites immediately cave in and give them what they want. It has to stop.

He has legal recourse and should seek it. I am sure he knows this. If he fails to exercise his rights……..then that is on him. No Confederate flag is illegal by definition. Nor should it be. In order to secure the right to free speech, we first must exercise our rights in the courts in order to set precedent. If precedent is not set NOW (!), then the future for such an action might be questionable or negligible.

As a business owner he surely understands that newspapers react to economic pressure. I would seek out the support of the advertising community.

Anyone who advertises or will advertise in the paper should be solicited in order to bring pressure on the paper.

Car dealerships, dress shops, home improvement companies, malls, shopping centers. Most small business owners especially are pretty conservative in their beliefs. He may find an ally there that he doesn’t even know he has.

If in lived in his neighborhood I would hoist a Confederate Flag just to spite the newspaper.
