Zimmerman was just officially charged with 2nd Degree murder. A step down from the 1st degree charge the state prosecutor was seeking.
The charge was largely based on an allegation that Martin was “running home” to get away from Zimmerman. However, when comparing a map of the complex to a timeline of the events, it appears that Martin made absolutely no attempt to “run home.” The attack on George Zimmerman occurred less than .1 mile from the apartment of Martin’s father’s girlfriend, where Martin was staying. Trayvon Martin had more than enough time to run home before Zimmerman’s 911 call even ended.
Skeptics believe the charges against Zimmerman are primarily motivated by a desire to keep black people from rioting in the main tourism region of Florida.
During this time, Martin was on the phone with a friend and described to her what was happening. The witness advised that Martin was scared because he was being followed through the complex by and unknown male and didn’t know why. Martin attempted to run home but was followed by Zimmerman who didn’t want the person he falsely assumed was going to commit a crime to get away before the police arrived. Zimmerman got out of his vehicle and followed Martin. When the police dispatcher realized Zimmerman was pursuing Martin, he instructed Zimmerman not to do that and that the responding officer would meet him. Zimmerman disregarded the police dispatcher and continued to follow Martin.
Just looked at Google Maps and according to their map scale, Martin was shot about 70 meters (less than 0.05 mile) from his father’s place. That’s a 15 second easy trot for a young male, or much faster if you really feel “threatened”. If the guy were shot in the back while running, the prosecution may have had some credibility, but the way the facts stand now, their side makes no sense. Poor little Trayvon could have easily gone home and had his Skittles, instead the thug decided to turn back and attack.
April 19th, 2012 at 1:27 pmGeorge was NOT told at ANYTIME NOT to follow Trayvon. What the dispatcher said was that they didn’t need him to do that. NOT that he couldn’t. BIG DIFFERENCE. Nobody could tell Zimmerman that he didn’t have the right to pursue Martin at that time. Plus, George DID stop following Trayvon. Trayvon made the mistake of his life for cowardly running after and behind George after his back was turned to start something. George finished it. End of story.

What happen now in S.A. was predicted +100yrs ago. I live a life of blame because other people didn’t understand what the No voters was warning them about. April 20th, 2012 at 10:24 amwhen i first heard of what happend and NBC cutting out part of the 911 call, i thought he was guilty, then on Nancy Gracy she thinks everyone is guilty, then saw that Mr. Zimmerman was hurt, i was still thinking race, but after hearing george testifying at his bond hearing, i think George is a good person. People mad that he go a bond, you are innocent UNTILL proven guilty, and why should he or any one not have a bond. i also think they over chardge him just to keep people calm, and over charged him for that reason. my prayers are with George, the Zimmerman, and the Martin family. just like Casey Anthony, people said all kinds of things about her, and i watched the trial, and the jury when by the law, i saw nothing that she killed her little girl. be greatfull we live in a place where you have a trial, unlike so many other countrys

My God all Americans’s are supposed to abide by the law, not pick and choose which law’s need to be changed because of our race religion or just because it does’nt fit us at the time. Travon Martin was a well known theif in s’school, his locker was filled with stolen real jewelry, he had been in trouble time and time again at school. But yet when he is caught scoping out his next victims house, he jumps the man who caught him the man defends himself and the defendant or victim as the NAACP calls it the victim is locked up and charged with murder! What are the African Americans thinking that we should change the law’s in America because them and their children can’t follow them? I think if we can’t live by the law’s and respect each other and each others property then those who can’t should go back to their native country because Jew’s cuban’s mexicans, German’s Chinese all of these can follow the law’s why can’t they.
